Twelve

I've been wanting to post this since January!  When the year began, I again became curious about the biblical meaning of the number twelve (2012).  In our book, Biblical Mathematics by Ed Vallowe, twelve is the number for Government by Divine Appointment. Numerous scripture references are given to validate this truth, but I would love to share a couple. Jesus said to His apostles in Matthew 19:28 (MSG), Yes, you have followed me. In the recreation of the world, when the Son of Man will rule gloriously, you who have followed me will also rule, starting with the twelve tribes of Israel. Jesus was saying the 12 apostles will sit upon 12 thrones and judge and rule in connection with His rule upon His throne. They will occupy those 12 thrones by Divine Appointment. The number 12 is used 22 times in the book of Revelation. In the dimensions of the city alone it mentions; the New Jerusalem that has 12 foundations; and in them the names of the 12 apostles; its trees bear 12 fruits; it measures foursquare and 12 thousand furlongs, its height is 144 cubits, or 12x12; validating that there is nothing in Gods city that is not perfectly governed.

Think of the implications for us this election year, 2012. We understand perfect government will not come until the kingdom of heaven is ultimately established. But, what if we cried out to God to divinely appoint our nation's leader this year? What if our individual lives were governed as scripture teaches? Adonai (Master, Teacher, literally Jesus) would be our Head. What if our homes were governed right? Dads would rise up to be strong leaders and examples (how about Courageous coming out this year), and Moms would follow, and families would be made whole! Praying God's Word, His Truth, His Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven is coming into agreement with all He wills! How different would our world be if we prayed and believed God's Word every day? Let it be, Lord!! Lets hide His Word in our hearts and then pray and believe it will be fulfilled in our day!
