Thank you

Thank you all so much for praying...Grace had a great first week of school!  Last Monday late afternoon we went to the school to meet her teacher.  We got to Ms. Chambers classroom and Grace did her usual "inspection" of the room.  She looked in every corner and crevice to see what she could find but was very quiet.  I met her teacher and instantly fell in love.  There are only two students in this whole elementary school that are from other countries and Ms. Chambers has both of them in her room.  We have been praying that God would give Grace the specific teacher that He has for her and I'm convinced we've got her!  The other foreign student attended Snow Rogers last year as a K-5 student and Ms. Chambers began to tell me that she was really nervous about the possibility of having him in her class this year.  She was afraid she may not be able to communicate with him and there would be difficulty.  But, she said she went on a mission trip this summer to an orphanage and the Lord just opened her heart and she began praying that she WOULD have this child in her room.  I believe God was also opening her heart to teach Grace.  Now she's teaching both of them...God is SO good!  I can't wait to see all that He accomplishes through Ms. Chambers loving and teaching her students this year.

I asked Grace if she would stand by Ms. Chambers and let me take a picture because Baba was out of town for work and couldn't meet her.  She clung to me like she didn't want to at first; as you can see here she let me but she put on her little fake smile...haha!

Grace meets Ms. Chambers

On the way home that night Grace began to ask a lot of questions like...do all the children at school have Mama's and Baba's?  To which I answered, yes, baby all the children have Mama's and Baba's.  She said, do all the Mama's and Baba's drop off their children at school?  I said, yes, all the Mama's drop off their children at school and then we all pick them up after school.  Then, she said, you won't forget to pick me up will you, Mama?  I could have burst into tears but it made me realize she has no idea what school is.  Her only point of reference is the orphanage.  She continued every day to ask me not to forget to pick her up multiple times.  May her little heart be reassured every day that she will always be picked up and she will never, ever be forgotten again.

She's all packed up and ready to go!

Waiting to go to her class...

She didn't even cry when I had to leave!!

Grace is the most courageous little human being I know!  She inspires me with her bravery.  She pushes through her fear and conquers situations every day.  I understand more and more why Jesus tells us in His Word to humble ourselves and be like a child.  They are MAGNIFICENT!
