The Birthday Girl

Yesterday marked our four month homecoming anniversary with Grace.  So much has happened since I was last able to write but if we're friends on Facebook then you've probably seen the highlights.  If not, I'd love to share a little here...

Grace was the birthday girl last week...

We wanted to have more of an intimate setting for her first birthday with us; mainly just family and keep it low key, so we decided to take a trip.  She'd never seen the beach so we thought she might enjoy getting away to do something special!  The trip went great and she was excited to see the water.  She didn't like the salty taste in the ocean but she wanted to go further and further out in the waves.  The child has "no fear!"  She hadn't been in the pool five minutes and she was floating; with her life jacket on, of course.  But, she wanted to go in the deep end after 30 minutes!

Bless her sweet heart...about half way through the week she got sick.  Steven had been sick just before and didn't feel well the first few days then Grace got it on the day we celebrated her birthday!  She felt so bad she couldn't eat her favorite meal OR her birthday cake!!  She started feeling better right before we had to leave but her little nose just poured the entire time.  I felt so bad for her.

This is kind of how she felt for several days although she WAS managing to eat something here...haha!

These two little girls had a time on the beach AND in the pool!

Next on the To Do list...swimming lessons!
