The Foundation

I wonder how long Grace has been waiting for us?

Sometime within the past week, she has received a care package from us that included a photo album of pictures.  I wonder what she's thinking.  I wonder what she thought when she first saw all of our pictures and read our letter.  I wonder SO many things that for now are only left to my imagination.

Until my faith is made sight in a few months, I will hope in the LORD.  I was reminded this week about what the people of God did in the book of Ezra.  God was bringing about a new thing in their lives.  The temple was being rebuilt.  The ruins were being brought back to life.  What was lost was being restored.  It says in Ezra 3:10 and 11 that "when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD...the priests and Levites...took their places to praise the LORD...with praise and thanksgiving they sang to the LORD: 'He is good; His love...endures forever.'  And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid."

Long before the temple was finished, this was only the beginning stages, only the foundation had been laid but the people shouted praise to God for His goodness and love.

As Grace was introduced to us this past week by way of our letter and pictures of our family, the foundation was laid for a lifetime of building.  We have yet to see the new temple, the new life, but I want to be found praising the LORD now for all He's done, for all He's doing and for all He's going to do in our future.
