I have really been a bad blogger for the last couple of years! I truly want to do better and one would think I could having now joined the Empty Nester's. That is, for a time...
For those of you following this blog to keep up with its original intent...to document the adoption of our Grace from China...we are still in that process. Little did we know in July of 2006 when we filled out that first application that it would be August 2011 and we're still waiting for her. But, here we sit. I remember talking with our sweet friends and neighbors at the time about her exciting news that they were expecting their first little girl. And, we just knew our Grace would be just about her age when it came time to bring her home. That little girl is getting close to five now (if she's not already) and still...no Grace.
We find encouragement knowing we're closer than we've ever been. Families returning from China last month waited 59 months from their log-in date. We will be 59 months from our log-in date in January 2012, so...we really are closer than we've ever been!
We are most excited to be planning a trip to North Carolina just any day now to celebrate the birth of our first grandson!!! Tyler & Abbey are 38 and half weeks along, and Nathan Chase will be born whenever he gets good and ready! Haha! They are thrilled to no end and so am I! My how the seasons of life change.
I got a letter from Caleb today. It was SO good to hear from him. He's absolutely loving Hillsong College. Of course, he is very homesick but he says he knows he's exactly where the Lord wants him and he is learning and experiencing so much! I love to hear him talk about all God is doing there. We get to Skype on occasion, not nearly as often as I'd like and usually only for brief moments at a time, and he gives us bits and pieces of life in Sydney. We are praying the Lord grants us the privilege of a visit with him next year! We'll HAVE to take his new little sister and introduce her to him :)
I know I opened confessing my lack of posts lately, but I am excited to actually be spending some time writing over the past month or so. The Lord has opened a door and I am walking through asking Him to show me the way. I've got a couple of months to finish the project and would love to know you are with me in prayer. James 5 says fervent prayer is powerful and affective, and I believe that! If you're reading this now, I'm praying for you too.
