Grace Abounds

Isn't it true that the more we know someone the more their flaws stick out...and the more evident it becomes that they have some issues! :) When we know people from a distance or when people know us from a distance it's much easier to get along. I've been really thinking about the verse in Roman 5 that says, "...where sin abounded, grace did much more abound." I love that verse and I'm so thankful for it when I think how sin affects my life and separates me from the Lord. I'm so grateful for God's grace in my life and I'm constantly reminded how much I need it! It's God's grace that brings us near again.

This week the Lord has been speaking to my heart about extending that grace more and more to the people closest to me. That doesn't mean my sin or their sin is okay. Paul even said in the first few verses of chapter 6, "should we go on sinning? Certainly not!" But, I've been challenged to hear the truth of this Word as the Lord speaks, "where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more."

Mercy always trumps! Love covers a multitude of sin. And grace is amazing! How does this all fit together? How do I live like that? I don't know for sure but I want to. Life is a journey and it's the truth (of God) that sets us free to live life to the fullest! God is gracious and I want to offer grace, so Lord continue to do your work in my heart. I need You more than ever before.
