I have so much to be thankful for as we close out another month tonight! Evening is a time of reflection. Reflection is contemplation: a calm, lengthy, intent consideration; expression without words. Do you take time to reflect on the goodness of the Lord? It's So good for the soul. Reflection brings insight from the Lord according to 2 Timothy 2:7. What a cool thought! We just have to take the time to be still and know that He is God.
Psalm 105 (MSG) begins, "Hallelujah! Thank God! Pray to Him by name! Tell everyone you meet what He has done! Sing Him songs, belt out hymns, translate His wonders into music! Honor His holy name with Hallelujahs, you who seek God. Live a happy life! Keep your eyes open for God, watch for His works, be alert for signs of His presence."
As a new day dawns in the morning, and a new month begins (Spring is coming!), I want the words of this Psalm to be the reality in me. I want to live with thanksgiving and tell what the Lord has done at every opportunity. The gift of music and song was given by God so that we can express our hearts to Him. Music touches the heart! Our hearts and His! I want to honor His name with my life and my song, living in the joy of the Lord which is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). And, I want to live with eyes wide open, watching "for His works, being alert for signs of His presence!" I love that!
We heard from Tyler a couple of times this week...thank You, Lord! He's doing good spending what little time he has on the phone with us talking about his future and all his plans after he gets back home. He seems to be in good spirit and he appears to be handling things well so far...to God be the glory! I know this is a time of "learning by experience" (one of the best teachers) for him, and I'm so thankful for every time I sense the Lord working in his life. There is a thing called mother's intuition, but I find myself regularly asking for the Father's revelation which is far more than just an "impression." He has the ability to "look inside" and know what we don't know and I believe He will oftentimes share what He knows when we ask Him to. Again, Psalm 105 said, "Pray to Him by name" and I want to know specifically how to pray for my sons & others, so I need His discernment. Their lives and futures are at stake!
Oh, yes! I almost forgot...the promotion ceremony is tomorrow (which is actually tonight for us). Tyler is now officially Corporal Tyler C. Webb! Congratulations, son!! We're so proud of you! Wish we could be there...thanks for remembering to take pictures!
Have a great week! Count your blessings!
